The state government has introduced tough new laws aimed at stamping out sexism in the hospitality industry.

From next month all venues selling alcohol will be banned from using 'hot' girls in promotional material.

"Any licensed venues publishing material featuring woman who are a 7/10 or above will face fines of up to $50,000," says Hospitality Minister Toby Wright. "Anything under a 7/10 will be totally fine."

The move follows FIFA's calls for Russian broadcasters to stop zooming in on 'hot' female fans at the World Cup Soccer.

"We think this is a step in the right direction," says Toby Wright. "The new laws governing NSW pubs and clubs will apply to any depictions of hot women on both traditional and social media."

Hoteliers are outraged.

"If I can't show decent looking women, what the fuck else am I going to show? Beer taps?" asks one publican.

Nina McClintock - pictured above in the black blouse - is a 9.5 out of 10. She regularly features in various venues' instagram posts and says the new laws are discriminatory.

"I get all dolled up and go to several places in one night just to hopefully get featured in their posts. Now there's literally no point going out."

The Australian Hotel's Association says the "draconian" laws will have a big impact on the health of the industry.

"Who will want to come to a pub full of 6 out of 10's?" asks AHA President Ron Furley. "Drinkers will simply choose to stay home."

The new laws take effect on August 14.

More to come.
