NSW music lovers are downloading as much music as possible before a state government ban on streaming music services takes effect. "People can still obviously listen to any downloads which they have access to, but from next Thursday all ISP's will be required to block access in NSW to music streaming sites," says Gladys Berejiklian. The ban will affect services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and MixCloud. The Premier says it's an important step forward in removing any last semblance of fun for NSW residents. "Like music festivals, we believe pre-recorded music can also significantly influence people to take drugs." There's been a swift response from local retailers, which play pre-recorded music in their stores. They say they'll be contesting the ban. And it's understood F45 management at Double Bay are looking through their old CD collections at home for decent music to play during work out sessions. Meanwhile, Flight Centre has been quick to attempt to cash in on the ban. The travel agent has begun offering interstate festival packages, with flights, accomodation and event tickets all included. More to come.
